Fred Perry’s grandson has told the public to support Andy Murray to be the next great tennis star.
John Perry, who is Fred Perry’s grandson, who was the last British person to win at Wimbledon in 1936, told the press that he felt honoured that the tennis star wore the Perry shirt on the tennis courts yesterday.
John has told the public that Murray has been playing brilliantly and he is certain that his grandfather would be very proud, and highly delighted.
Fred Perry initially had brought out the popular polo shirt in 1952 at Wimbledon, and it was a big hit! It became the height of fashion in the 1970s, and even though the other tennis players shunned the logo, Murray chose it as his chosen label, and made the Fred family very pleased.
